Anchor & Wave Accounting ("I", "me", "my") is a sole proprietorship operated by Sui (Hao) Qu, CPA, CA, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I take your privacy seriously and am committed to protecting the personal information you share with me in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
When you book a discovery call through my online scheduling page, I collect:
If we move forward and you complete the client questionnaire after our call, I collect more detailed information so I can scope the work accurately. This may include:
This website itself does not use cookies for tracking or analytics. Booking takes place on a scheduling page operated by Google, which is governed by Google's privacy policy.
I collect this information for one purpose: to understand your business and respond to your inquiry with relevant next steps and a preliminary proposal. I will not use your information for any other purpose without your consent.
Your discovery-call booking is handled by Google through Google Calendar and Google Meet, which store data in the United States. If you later complete the client questionnaire, your responses are captured by Netlify Forms (the form service on the platform that hosts this website), which stores data in the United States, and then transferred into a Notion database, which stores data in the European Union, where I review your information and prepare your proposal. In each case your information is stored on servers outside Canada and may be subject to the laws of the country where it is held, including lawful access by foreign courts, law enforcement, or government authorities.
Once a questionnaire submission has been transferred into Notion, I remove it from Netlify Forms. I retain your information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by professional standards or law.
In the unlikely event of a breach of security safeguards that creates a real risk of significant harm to you, I will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada without unreasonable delay, as required under PIPEDA.
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact me at sui@anchorandwave.ca. I will respond within 30 days.
I am personally accountable for the protection of your personal information. If you have questions or concerns about how your information is handled, or if you wish to file a complaint, please contact me directly:
If you are not satisfied with my response, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
